10 Things to do in Vegas (That don’t involve alcohol)
Vegas is the city of bachelorette parties, stag parties, birthday parties and weddings. Basically Vegas is THE party destination of North America, arguable the world. And while those parties are pretty great, I always get sad when people say they will never go to Vegas because they don’t drink – there is a lot more to Vegas than alcohol! I’ve been to Vegas 4 times and gathered a list of the top 10 things to do in Vegas with out alcohol. Honestly its pretty hard to limit it to just 10 things to do, there is so much to see and do in Vegas!

1. Explore Fremont Street
This is a pedestrian only street with a very vintage vibe. It is much smaller then the main strip, much more walkable and a little less intimidating. The most popular thing to do there is Slotzilla, the 12 story zip line that runs across the street. There is also a light show hourly after 6pm. It is a great place to walk around, get something to eat or just experience a slightly different side of Las Vegas.
2. Neon Museum
The Neon signs are an icon of Vegas, they’ve adorned the strip for years and now they are on display at the Neon Museum. They offer tours during the day and the night when the light the ones that are still functioning (the ones at night cost slightly more). Even though not all of them can turn on seeing them as night was pretty cool. The tour is also really informative!
3. See a Show
At any point in Vegas there are hundreds of different shows to see, take your pick from concerts, magic shows, circus shows, comedy shows, strip shows or pretty much anything else you can imagine! I went to go see Cirque du Soleil a few years ago and it was excellent! You can see whats playing at the moment here.
4. Mob Museum
Vegas has some of the best and most unique museums I’ve ever seen and the Mob Museum is one of the best. The mob has been part of Vegas since it’s founding and the museum does a very good job of explaining it’s history in Vegas and through out the USA It is relatively close to Fremont street so it is easy to combine with a visit there.
5. Walk the Strip
Even if you don’t drink, walking through all of the casinos, extravagant hotels and chapels is an experience. The strip is surprisingly long and a walk from the famous Las Vegas sign to the opposite end of the strip would take a very long time. I’d suggest picking a few hotels or exhibitions to visit along the strip and then taking a taxi to the sign if you’d like to see that as well.
There are tons of incredible unique hotels to visit on the strip, but a few of my favourites are the Venetian hotel complete with a mini Venice and the Flamingo Las Vegas which feels very retro and has real flamingos you can visit. Going to visit the Bellagio fountains show (every 15 – 30mins) and the Bellagio Conservatory are both free and a great way to spend your time. Make sure you check out all of the very Vegas chapels along the strip as well – honestly these were probably my favourite.
6. Container Park
This is an open-air shopping centre close to Fremont street that houses retail shops, restaurants and live entertainment all within old shipping containers. There are always various events going on that you can check out on their website.
7. Get outside of Vegas
Ok so I know this isn’t actually in Vegas so it shouldn’t be on this list, but there are so many places surrounding Vegas that I think any trip to Vegas without alcohol should include an excursion to the surrounding area. The obvious choice is the Grand Canyon which is phenomenal no matter what season it is. The Hover Dam, Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire are also popular day trips from Vegas.
8. Eat!
Vegas may have more options to eat than any other city I’ve been to. You can get all day buffets (the one a Caesar’s is pretty good, but expensive), world class Michelin Star restaurans, food from around the world and cheap eat (we LOVED Nacho Daddy). You’ll never run out of good places to eat in Vegas!
9. Atomic Testing Museum
Another of Vegas’s excellent and unique museums, the Atomic Testing Museum does a great job at presenting the history of the atomic testing site and of nuclear weapons in general. It is a surprisingly big museum, but is a bit removed from central Vegas. General admission is $22, but Groupon normally has a deal on!
10. The Pinball Hall of Fame
This was probably my favourite thing that we did on my last trip to Vegas! It is a little out of the way, but is a cheap way to spend and afternoon and something that you can only do in Vegas. It houses the world’s largest collection of vintage pinball machines and you can play almost all of them. Most only cost $0.25 and it is a non for profit so the money goes back into buying more games! There are also some newer pinball machines or some other classic arcade games like PAC-MAN.
